Playson Slots on Our Logs: Two Collectors, One Classic and a Blank Where the Return Goes

The figure that never appears

Start with what the builds decline to say: it shapes everything else on this page. Not one info screen of Royal Coins 2, Royal Joker, Thunder Coins, Thunder Coins XXL or Burning Wins carries an RTP line. The figures in circulation come from outside the games. Playson's guides for operators give 95.64% for Royal Coins 2 and list several configurations for Royal Joker and Thunder Coins, topping out at 95.62% and 95.66%. An operator's published rules give 96.21% for Burning Wins, and the 95.65% of Thunder Coins XXL is a database figure that sits beside the 94.65% an Italian operator's rules print. The tier a casino has licensed is invisible from its lobby, and the studio's public pages for the games don't fill the gap. Our own logs answer with returns of 91.92%, 92.98%, 100.84%, 90.98% and 89.03%, samples of a few thousand spins that settle nothing about the long run. The only figure that binds is the one in the info screen at the venue, and with this studio it usually isn't there. Check before any money goes in, and treat the listed numbers as orientation.

The register

The four Hold and Win rows each pool three logged demo sessions: the portal's own run and the two sister-site logs for that title. All thirteen sessions ran at a flat 1.00 stake with every round arriving naturally. Burning Wins has one logged session and no sister logs, so its row is a single run rather than a pool. Summed by money across all thirteen sessions, the five games returned 26,116.50 on 27,879.00 staked, which is 93.68%. The sum describes thirteen afternoons, and it measures nothing about the studio itself. The register has one rule: every figure in it is copied from the session table of the linked review.

Ratings grade the machine, not the session: how the mechanics work, how open the studio is about its numbers, how the marketing reads beside the logs, how alive the base game is, how the bonus is built and how readable the price list is. A run's profit or loss never enters the grade, which is why the five scores sit within half a point of one another while the pool returns spread by twelve.

One chassis, three collectors

Royal Joker and Thunder Coins were logged on the same July day, and they play as a controlled experiment. The board is the same, the five lines are the same, the jackpot panel is the same, and one symbol in the middle is different. Royal Joker's symbol is a collector that lands only on the middle reel and sticks for the rest of the round. On each new drop it gathers every visible value into itself, and a pair of those collectors built both of the pool's headline rounds, 664x and 235x, with no jackpot coin involved. Thunder Coins gives its collector a second job, a lightning strike that sweeps every visible coin the moment it lands beside one in the base game. In our own log that strike paid on 54 of 2,960 spins, and none of the 16 bonus rounds ran without the symbol.

The clocks tell the same story from the other side of the ledger. The Royal Joker pool triggered once per 150 spins and the Thunder Coins pool once per 132. Inside those averages the individual sessions spread from one round per 98 spins to one per 208. Our own Royal Joker log went 594 spins between rounds at one point, and our Thunder Coins log went 707. Both famines lived inside otherwise ordinary sessions, which is how a random clock behaves at this length. A Playson collector game asks you to budget for the gap between rounds far more than for the size of them. The median Thunder Coins round paid 48 bets, and the nineteen Royal Joker rounds in our log that had no collector pair averaged 52x.

The chassis is older than both of them: Royal Coins 2: Hold and Win shipped in September 2022 on the same board, the same five lines and the same panel, and it was logged the day before the other two. Its crown is Royal Joker's collector without the multiplied cells. A coin is counted once for every crown standing on the middle reel when it lands, which makes a coin under two crowns worth double. The pool of 6,436 spins opened a round once per 137, beside the one per 133 on Playson's sheet for operators, and returned 91.92%. Across its 47 rounds the crowns paid out 2,875 bets against 2,139 printed on the coins, and each of the 25 rounds that beat the printed value of its coins closed on more than one crown. The best of them paid 245x, on three crowns and a Major coin.

The newest pressing of the chassis, Thunder Coins XXL: Multicoin, keeps the collector idea and rebuilds the board around it. Five rows and fifteen lines replace three and five, a MULTICOIN joins the Thunder Coin on the middle reel, and the jackpot ladder restarts at 15x. Its pool of 6,046 spins triggered once per 155 and returned 90.98%, with a median round of 59 bets. The multiplier was drawn in eighteen of its 39 rounds and never above x7. The two builds are set against each other on the comparison page, base game beside base game and round beside round.

The classic without a feature

Burning Wins is the same three-by-three board with nothing bolted to it, five fixed lines and nine symbols, three of a kind or nothing. The top line, three red sevens, pays 60x the stake, and our 2,889-spin log landed it exactly once. A win of any size arrived on one spin in fifteen, and the longest run without one was 70 spins. The session closed 317 bets down, at 89.03%, with nothing to wait for along the way. The five lines settle together, so a screen that fills several of them pays each of them. All but five of the log's 198 paying spins came in multiples of seven; the exceptions were two 15x lines, a 20x, a 40x and the single 60x line. The 60x that databases print as the game's maximum is the price of the top line, and one operator's published rules set the largest win of a single game at 60,000 on a 1,000 stake, the same sixty. It's a plain machine, and the plainness is the whole of the offer.

The jackpot panel, priced by 175 rounds

Royal Joker, Thunder Coins and Royal Coins 2 hang the same four tiers over the reels, Mini at 25x the stake, Minor at 50x, Major at 150x and Grand at 1,000x, and the XXL reprices that ladder at 15x, 30x, 100x and 1,000x. The values print in currency, and they reprice the moment the bet changes. Across the 41 Royal Joker rounds of the pool, no tier of any kind landed. Across 48 Thunder Coins rounds one Minor landed, inside the portal session's 102x round, and no Major or Grand appeared in either pool. In Playson's guides for operators, 21,150x for Royal Joker and 5,150x for Thunder Coins are the top results of a simulation of 50 billion spins, and neither guide says what board produced them. The pools topped out at 664x and 351x, and neither of those rounds touched the panel. On this evidence the panel moved once in those two pools' 89 rounds, for that 50x Minor, and the ordinary coin values underneath it did nearly all of the paying. The XXL's 39 rounds add a Mini coin on the frames of its 150x round and a Minor coin on the board at another round's close that the wallet did not pay. Royal Coins 2 is the exception on this shelf: its 47 rounds took in twelve jackpot coins, six Mini, four Minor and two Major, and one of the Majors sat inside the 245x round at the head of its pool. No Grand appears in any of the 175.

Thirteen sessions, one direction each

Twelve of the thirteen sessions on this shelf finished clearly on one side of their stakes, which is what samples of this length do, and the thirteenth closed 43 bets under its own. The Royal Joker pool split 110.84% on this portal against 77.18% and 79.54% on the sister sites, a net of 433 bets down over 6,165 spins. The Thunder Coins pool ran the other way, 80.00% here against 120.92% and 117.29% there, 53 bets up over 6,343. Burning Wins closed at 89.03% on its own, 317 bets down after 2,889 spins. The Thunder Coins XXL pool split 90.92% here against 104.13% and 78.47% on the sister sites, 545 bets down over 6,046. The Royal Coins 2 pool is the one with no split at all, 98.56% here against 91.45% and 80.43% on the sister sites, 520 bets down over 6,436. Four of the thirteen sessions finished ahead and nine behind, and the widest gap between two logs of the same game was 41 points. None of that says anything about the tier a casino runs. It says that a few thousand spins on a collector game is a coin toss with a long memory. The memory belongs to the session rather than to the machine, and the next session starts without it.
