Floating Dragon: Year of the Snake - the Rules, Coin by Coin

By Alex Reeves · SlotLab testing team

One collection feature carries this whole game, and the base reels only sell tickets to it. The tables below come from the in-game rule screens of the build we logged, and every payout is stated as a multiple of the total bet. The demo opens right in the page, so launch it and check each line against the live screens.

The collection trail, level by level

The paying engine only runs in Free Spins. A Lady wild lands across the reels, and each wild collects the printed value of every money coin on screen at that instant. The wilds also stack on a trail above the grid, and every fourth wild collected does two jobs at once - it awards ten more free spins, and it steps a multiplier up one level.

The four levels read x1, x2, x3, x10. A round starts on level one at x1. The fourth collected wild moves it to level two at x2, the eighth to level three at x3, the twelfth to level four at x10. That last step needs twelve wilds inside a single round, spread across three retriggers, and once level four is reached the feature stops retriggering. The active multiplier applies to every coin value collected from that point on.

The money symbols, and when they count

Money coins land with a value already printed on the face. The rules list thirteen possible values - 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 200x, 500x, 1,666x, 2,500x and 5,000x the total bet. In the base game these coins pay nothing at all. They are collected only during Free Spins, and only when a wild is on the grid to take them.

Collection value is the coin face times the active multiplier. A 500x coin taken at level four pays 500 times 10, which is 5,000x - the maximum the game allows and the point at which a round ends. A 5,000x coin can also land and settle the cap on its own at any level.

Into Free Spins, and the cards drawn first

Three Dragon scatters award 10 free spins, four award 15, five award 20. Land two scatters without a third and a random feature can still bring the round in - a respin shifts the reels down, or a snake pulls a reel up to reveal the third scatter.

Before the spins begin, the game draws zero to five pre-round modifiers, and each one loads the round in your favour:

ModifierWhat it does

Level UpThe multiplier trail starts on level two, at x2
Extra Free SpinsPlus 2 spins at the start, and plus 2 on every retrigger
Dynamites, Snakes and FirecrackersRaises the chance of the in-round helpers below

Three helpers that keep a round moving

During Free Spins, three random features step in when a spin threatens to waste itself. A Dynamite adds money symbols when wilds are on screen with nothing to collect. A Snake nudges a reel to bring in a wild when coins are on screen with no wild to take them. A Firecracker transforms every non-wild symbol for a fresh chance at a collection. Special reels are in play throughout the feature.

The line paytable, per total bet

The base game pays ten fixed lines, left to right from reel one. Values below are multiples of the total bet for 3, 4 and 5 of a kind. Only the snake pays from two.

The Lady wild appears on the reels during Free Spins only, and it substitutes for every symbol except the Dragon scatter. Neither the wild nor the scatter prints a line pay of its own. The scatter's whole job is the trigger, and the wild's is the collection.

Ante bet and buy, one switch apart

The bet carries a multiplier that is normally 10x. Turn the Ante Bet on and it becomes 15x - each spin costs 50% more, extra scatters seed the reels, and the natural trigger rate climbs. With the Ante Bet on, the Buy Free Spins button is disabled.

Buy Free Spins costs 100x the total bet and drops you straight into a round, with the triggering spin landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters at random for 10, 15 or 20 spins. The buy and the ante cannot both be active - the interface removes one the moment you enable the other.

The cap, and the RTP the screen prints

The maximum win is 5,000x the bet. The rules state it plainly - when a Free Spins round reaches 5,000x, the round ends at once, the win is paid, and any remaining spins are forfeited. Getting there needs the x10 level active as a 500x-or-higher coin is collected, or a single 5,000x coin.

This build does print its RTP, which is worth noting because many do not. The volatility screen states a theoretical 96.71%, and states the same 96.71% for Ante Bet play and for a bought round. Volatility is rated high. Minimum bet is 0.10, maximum bet is 375.00 on the screens we logged.

Operators can run this game at lower configured RTP values - 95.67% and 94.60% both exist in the wild. The 96.71% is the version printed in this demo, not a guarantee about the version a casino has switched on. Check the info screen in the lobby before real play.

Quick answers

How does the multiplier reach x10 in Floating Dragon?

Every fourth wild collected in Free Spins steps the multiplier up a level - x2 at the fourth, x3 at the eighth, x10 at the twelfth. Reaching x10 needs twelve collected wilds in one round, across three retriggers, after which the feature stops retriggering.

Do the money coins pay in the base game?

No. Money coins land with printed values from 2x to 5,000x the bet, but they pay nothing outside Free Spins. They only count when a Lady wild is on the grid to collect them, which happens only during the bonus.

What is the maximum win and how is it capped?

The cap is 5,000x the total bet. When a round's total reaches 5,000x the round ends immediately, the win is awarded, and any remaining free spins are forfeited. The cap needs the x10 level with a 500x-or-higher coin, or a single 5,000x coin.

Is the free Floating Dragon demo the same build?

Same info screens, same coin values, same virtual balance. The launch on this page runs the exact Pragmatic Play build our session logged, in the page rather than a pop-up. The 18+ rule holds for free play too.

Known limits of this page:
  • Rules restated, not quoted. The exact wording sits on the info screens inside the demo.
  • Line paytable values are multiples of the total bet, so cash results scale with your stake.
  • The 96.71% RTP is the printed demo figure - operators may run 95.67% or 94.60% instead.
  • Money coin drop rates, wild frequency and modifier odds are not printed, and we do not estimate them.
  • The 5,000x cap is stated on the rules screen; the odds of reaching it are the game's own maths, not ours.
  • Maximum bet reads 375.00 on our screens, and aggregator listings quote other figures - the in-game screen wins.
  • Malfunction voids all pays and plays.
